My Church Notes

Reality of heaven on earth

Hi there everyone, during Shiloh (2014) which I was able to follow online, organized by the “living faith church Ota”. I was really blessed by the word of God that went forth from the mouth the ministers and prophet especially from Bishop David Oyedepo. That’s why I would like to share my notes with everyone out there.

Luke 17:20-21
20 ¶ And when he was demanded of
the Pharisees, when the kingdom of
God should come, he answered them
and said, The kingdom of God
cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here!
or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom
of God is within you.

According to the scripture above the Kingdom of God/Heaven is within us, but what does this mean? It’s my opinion that most of us, myself included pensive Heaven only as a place one goes to after this life. However I understood from the teachings that the Kingdom of God shouldn’t just be seen as a distant goal or a destination but it should also be seen as a place which we assume when we come into the knowledge and acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ, “it is a lifestyle”. This reminded me of Dr Martin Luther King Junior’s quote which states that “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”
From all this I understand that living a life of heaven here on earth is possible, by putting the mysteries of the Kingdom to work.

Our Lord Jesus Christ lived an exemplary life and is a living manifestation of heaven on earth. He came to save us, to restore us back to Eden (the first heaven on earth), to teach us the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Therefore the Life of Our Lord Jesus Christ should serve as a guideline for Christians generally as a way of life.
Our Lord Jesus Christ knew who He was, He never wavered or doubted his identity as the Son of God Our Messiah but kept on proclaiming it with authority. The question of one’s identity is of utmost importance, note I am not referring to one’s name, culture or nationality but to one’s spiritual identity. For if one fails to acknowledge and walk in ones, God given identity then the devil will feed one with lies. These lies include illnesses, addictions, lusts and everything that works against our salvation. The realization of who one is in Christ Jesus is the restoration of one’s dignity.Who one is, is that which one declares. For according to the Bible we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ Jesus.

Roman 8: 15-17
15 For ye have not received the
spirit of bondage again to fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness
with our spirit, that we are the children
of God:
17 And if children, then heirs;
heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with
him, that we may be also glorified

The most dangerous man to the devil is the man who declares who he is. One’s identity determines one’s limit. The discovery of who you are is the point of your reaction in other words, in a battle it is the point at which you start resisting. We are citizens of Heaven, natives of heaven being entitled to the amenities of heaven. An ambassador of Christ a spokesman of Christ.

Have a Blessed day
